Olaleye listening

Olaleye Onikuyide grew up in West Hartford and is proud to call it home.

Born at Hartford Hospital to Nigerian immigrant parents who came to the U.S. in the early 1980s, Olaleye spent his earliest years in Bloomfield before his family settled in West Hartford, where he was shaped by the schools, neighbors, and community around him.

He attended Norfeldt Elementary, King Philip Middle School, and graduated from Hall High School in 2016. From there, he earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Hartford and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, becoming an attorney in 2024.

Olaleye is running to represent West Hartford and Avon because he wants this community to remain a place people can actually afford to live—whether they’re just starting out, raising a family, or planning to stay for the long haul. His focus is on affordability, strong infrastructure, and making sure the district gets its fair share from the state.

Most of all, Olaleye believes good leadership starts with listening. He’s running to hear from neighbors, show up for the community, and work together to build a future that works for everyone.
